Workshop to NAAC Aspirant Institutions to promote Quality Assurance in Higher Education

 

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the University of Hyderabad has organized a 3-day workshop for the mentee institutions under the UGC-PARAMARSH Scheme from 25 to 27 February, 2021 at the School of Management Studies. The scheme recognized the University of Hyderabad as one of the Mentor Institution to provide guidance to five mentee institutions to prepare them for NAAC accreditation.

The 3-day workshop had a blend of lectures in the morning sessions and campus visits to the University facilities in the afternoon sessions.

On the first day, Prof. S. Srinath, Director-IQAC, welcomed the participants and highlighted the workshop’s scope. Prof. B. Raja Shekhar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, UoH, inaugurated the workshop with a lecture on NAAC Accreditation and Peer Team Visits followed by the visit to the central campus facilities including, IGML, CIL, Zakhir Hussain Lecture Hall Complex, Sports Complex and CMSD.

On the second day, Prof. Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty, Associate Director, IQAC-UoH, chaired the session with Dr. Krishnamurthy, Consultant, IQAC-UoH, delivering a lecture on the importance of accreditation, understanding the nuances and approaches for preparing the Self-Study Report for NAAC Accreditation. Prof. B. Venkata Appa Rao of NIT Warangal has delivered the lecture on the Outcome-based Education framework and its design strategies, followed by the visit to the academic units, including the School of Chemistry, E-Learning Center, Center for Nano Technology, and the School of Life Sciences.

On the final day, Prof. S. Raja Sethu Durai, Associate Director, IQAC-UoH, chaired the session with Prof. Salman Abdul Moiz of the School of Computer and Information Sciences, delivering a lecture on the student feedback analysis. Prof. Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty of the School of Management Studies delivered a lecture on improving research and innovation systems followed by the valedictory.

Mr. Ravi Ganapathi from PRO’s Office co-ordinated the campus visits to the central facilities and academic units with the help and support from the concerned unit heads and staff.

The representatives from 1. Satavahana University, Karimnagar 2. Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajamahendravaram 3. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam and 4. Government Degree College for Women, Golkonda attended the workshop.
